The museum will be opening again on July 1st, 2026 for our summer experience! Keira will be back again, and she is looking forward to seeing everyone. There have been a few changes to the museum displays, and this year we are going to highlight the people from Cape George and their military service. We have a good number of WW1 military files of those who served, that will be available. As well, we have photo’s and various exhibits covering both World Wars, Korea and present day. Our hours will be daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless something unforseen happens. If there are changes to our hours, our Facebook page will advise.
The Cape George Heritage Museum is a non-profit community organization run by volunteers. Initially, the museum was a place to showcase items that were relevant to life at Cape George, its people and how they lived. We have expanded to include the documentation, preservation and sharing of family histories, photographs, and the way life was lived and how it has changed over the years.
The museum relies on like-minded community members who contribute to what we hold and are committed to making it available for others. Everything on this site can be shared (noncommercial). It is our goal to continue to expand and grow our collection so that future generations will know about life on the shores of Nova Scotia and specifically Cape George.
If you would be interested in renting our facility during our off season, contact us with your request and we will see if we can accomodate you! We operate on a donation basis, so we ask any group renting the space, to make a donation based on their budget, to the museum to cover basic costs. Thanks!!
