23 July 1912
At Cape George, N.S., on Sunday, July 23rd 1912, Mrs. Ellen Boutilier, wife of Sheldon B. Boutilier, of SS. Suffolk, and daughter of the late Stuart Ballantyne, Cape George. Deceased had been visiting her mother for some six weeks. Tuesday morning, she appeared to be doing well, but in a short time her mother noticed that she was extremely ill and a little later she passed away in her arms. Besides a broken hearted husband and child (Ella, 17 days old), she leaves a sorrowing mother, four brothers and two sisters. A brother and sister from Hearst, Ont., and the husband from Norfolk , Virginia, with his mother, of Halifax Co., were present. Rev. A.H. Denoon, assisted by the catechist, conducted the funeral service in the Presbyterian Church, Cape George, Sunday afternoon. The bereaved have the sympathy of the entire community, evidenced perhaps in no better way than in the attendance at the last sad rites.
