Funeral services for the late Mary B. MacDonald, 73, of Old South River Road, Antigonish, took place February 2, in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantynes Cove, with Rev. Gilles LeBlanc Officiating . Burial was in the parish cemetery. Ms. MacDonald died January 30 at home. Active pallbearers were Colin Bl MacDonald, Alvin MacNeil, Colin V. MacDonald, John Chisholm, Andre MacDonald, and Gerard MacDonald. Honorary pallbearers were Joyce Viau, Marion Landry, Ethel Aucoin, Cecilia Grant, Mary Murphy, Carmie Forewell, Joan Campbell, Fran MacDougall and Mary Margaret MacEachern. Music for the funeral mass was provided by Margaret MacDonald. Readers were Marilyn Dee, Genevieve Kelly and Audrey MacDonald. Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Colin F. and Mary Ellen (MacEachern) MacDonald. She lived her early life in Ballantynes Cove and attended local schools. She was employed by the Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, until her retirement in 1989. She is survived by three sisters, Margaret I, (Mrs A.W.) Chisholm, Antigonish; Florence (Mrs. A.J. MacDonald), Heatherton; and Sister Marie Raymond, csm, Bethany; two brothers Bernard, Antigonish and Ray, Ballantynes Cove; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Isabel MacNeil and one in infancy; and two brothers Augustine and one is Infancy.
