Fatal Accident – John, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm McEachern, of Ballantyne’s Cove, Antigonish, was accidently killed at San Mateo, California on Sunday, June 4. He was riding a motor cycle and passed behind a south-bound train on the tracks of the Southern Pacific Railway. He was not aware because of the noise of the rushing train, that a train was passing north at the time on a parallel track and he was caught by the engine of this second train. Deceased was a man of many sterling qualities of about ?? years of age. He was but recently married. Besides his sorrowful wife, he leaves fond parents, seven brothers and five sisters to mourn the loss of a good industrious husband, a faithful son and kind brother. He left home 15 years ago. For the last six years he resided at San Francisco. After Requiem Mass in St. Catherine’s Church, his remains were laid to rest at Santa Barbara. May he rest in peace.
