At Livingstone’s Cove, January 26, John McKinnon in his 88th year, after a brief illness. The deceased was an upright and industrious man, beloved by all his acquaintances. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Neil Gillis, Livingstone’s Cove, two brothers, Charles and Alex and one sister Mrs. Katherine Hanrahan of Georgeville. When a young man Mr. McKinnon went to California where he was engaged in mining for some years and where he had the misfortune of losing a leg. Afterwards, returning home he settled at Livingstone’s Cove, where he was esteemed by all his neighbors. He was married twice, first to Flora Gillis, Morar, and last to Flora Smith, Pleasant Valley, who predeceased him by eight months. After frequent reception of the sacraments, he died a truly edifying death. Buried in Georgeville.
