The Lobster Season- May 1921

The Casket – May 5th, 1921

A Ballentyne’s Cove correspondent writes:  “The Burnham & Morril company opened their lobster factory at Ballentine’s Cove on April 27, and though the price is small compared with last year the fishermen feel that this firm will pay as high as market conditions will warrant, as they have done in the past.  On the 29th fairly good catches were made, and with fair weather the fishermen may do fairly well.  The fish trap is doing well supplying the fishermen with herring for bait.   The gulf shore packet made a special trip to Malignant Cove and this port on April 18th, and it is expected that she will be on her regular run after May 1.  The Antigonish packet made two special trips in April.  The S.S. Strathlorne from Halifax will be on her regular route the first week in May calling at this port tri-weekly.
