18 Oct 1934 Daniel Beaton
At Malden, Mass., Oct. 18, in the 78th year of his age, Daniel Beaton. The greater part of his life was spent at Cape George, first at Morar, whither his father had moved with his family from Inverness, C.B. and later at Ballentyne’s Cove. In 1923 he went to Boston, and finally settled in Malden. The funeral took place Oct. 20, after requiem Mass celebrated by Father Hogan of St. Joseph’s Church, Maplewood. Interment was in Holy Cross cemetery. The pallbearers were: John A. Beaton, George Gildersleeve, Daniel Beaton, Daniel H. McCarthy, Henry MacEachern, and John Hanrahan. Dan Beaton was well known and highly respected both in his old home and the home of his adoption. He was a genial nature, frank, open and without guile. A true Christian, he realized early in life that we have not here a lasting city but seek one that is to come. He was a hard worker all his life long. God grant him eternal rest.
