12 Jan 1947 Angus Louis Gillis
The death occurred at the Annex, St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, January 12, 1947, of Angus Louis Gillis, after a brief illness. The deceased was born in Boston, Mass., 44 years ago, moving with his parents when a child to Georgeville, and there he spent his entire life. Four years ago he married Catherine Brown, Livingstone’s Cove, who survives, with one child Francis Louis, aged 18 months. Besides his wife and young son, he leaves to cherish his memory his aged mother, one brother, Rev. Francis Gillis, Provost, Ab., and two sisters, Mary at home and Loretta, Mrs. W.J. Grant, Williams Point. During his illness he was consoled and strengthened by the daily reception of the Sacraments. He was also comforted by the presence of his brother who came home to visit him shortly before his death. After solemn requiem Mass, sung in St. At George’s Church on Jan. 14, his remains were laid to rest in the family plot, beside those of his father, there to await a glorious Resurrection.
