Roberts, Mary (MacDonald)

27 Jan 1945  Mary Roberts (MacDonald)

The unexpected death of Mrs. Mary Roberts occurred at Ballantyne’s Cove, N.S. on Jan 27.  Mrs. Roberts was the wife of the late Israel Roberts who predeceased her 19 years ago.  Born in 1862, daughter of the late Alexander MacDonald and Mary MacEachern, deceased was noted for her kind and gentle disposition.  Devotion to her family and church, loyalty to her friends and neighbors characterized her life.  After spending the last years in Detroit it was her wish to return last summer to her old home.  Ever a devout member of the Catholic faith she was fortified by the last rites which she received from her parish priest Rev. A.I. MacAdam.  To mourn their loss she leaves one son Leo at home and three daughters, Alice, Mrs. Neil Campbell; Mary, Mrs Irving Hardy; and Lillian, Mrs Kennedy MacInnis, all of Detroit; also twelve grandchildren.  After requiem Mass, celebrated by Rev. Father MacAdam, her remains were laid to rest beside her husband in the little cemetery at Ballantyne’s Cove
