Carl Edmund Murphy of Middleton died suddenly on April 6. He was 44 years old. He was deputy fire chief of the Middleton Fire Department and secretary of the provincial fire fighters association. His wife, Janet Rose, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold MacPhie of Ballantynes Cove. Surviving besides his wife are four children, Catherine , Christopher, Douglas, and Dale; a brother Arthur, Dartmouth; and a sister, Mrs. Robert Spears of Grand Falls, New Brunswick. Funeral services were held in St. Monica’s Church. Burial was in the Kingston cemetery. Pallbearers were members of the fire department
