Mark Ronald MacEachern, 60, of Livingstones Cove, died suddenly at home on April 27. Funeral services were held on Saturday in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, and burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan C. MacNeil, Hugh MacPherson, Cecil MacKay, John Gillis, Mike Novak and Bobby Linkletter. Mr. MacEachern was a son of William Joseph and Catherine (MacInnis) MacEachern of Livingstones Cove. He wasn’t married. Surviving are seven sisters and a brother: Florence (Mrs. Carol Schilling), Toronto; Ruth (Mrs. Earl Diggins), New Glasgow; Selma (Mrs David Burke), Halifax; Margaret (Mrs Angus MacEachern), Highland Drive, Antigonish; Rita (Mrs John Macdonald), Arisaig; Catherine (Mrs John Gillis), Georgeville; Elizabeth, Antigonish; and John Q., Livingstones Cove. Twin brothers are dead. A year ago, Mr. MacEachern was the donor for a kidney transplant on his sister Selma, the mother of four children. The donated kidney was the best match possible outside of a twin pairing and the operation was very successful.
