Funeral services were held last Sunday for the late John William MacInnis, 86, of the R.K, MacDonald Guest House, and formerly of Cape George, in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantynes Cove with Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Mr. MacInnis died September 18 in St. Martha’s Hospital. Pallbearers were Gerard MacDougall, Joseph MacInnis, Leroy MacInnis, Hughie MacInnis, Daniel Boyd and Albert Falkenham. Burial was in the church cemetery. Born in Cape George, he was a son of the late Daniel and Margaret (MacInnis) MacInnis. He was a farmer and fisherman most of his working life. Surviving are a daughter, mary (Mrs. Leo Myette), Antigonish; two sons, Roderick and Hugh D., both of Cape George; three sisters, Margaret (Mrs Shaw Boyd), and Ester (Mrs. Angus MacGillivray), both of Morristown; and Catherine (Mrs. Kimball Falkenham), Ballantyne’s Cove, two brothers, Mark and John Hugh, both of Cape George; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Margaret MacDougall; three brothers, Alex, Hugh and Raymond; and two sisters, Mary and Hilda.
