Requiem Mass for Angus R. MacPherson, 68, of Georgeville, was held in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, on February 18. He died on February 15 in St. Martha’s Hospital, after a short illness. He was a mail contractor with the Canadian Postal Service for the past 31 years. Born in Georgeville, he was a son of the late Angus and Mary Ann (MacDonald) MacPherson. He is survived by his wife, the former Ester MacGillivray of Malignant Cove; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann and Lynn Marie, both of Georgeville; two sons, Joseph and Leonard, both of Ottawa; a sister, Georgina (Mrs. Jack) McQuenney, of Massachusetts; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Richard; three sisters, Mary, Sister Mary Margaret, CSM, and Margaret; and three brothers, John, Daniel and Allan. Pallbearers were Donald Murphy, Allie MacIsaac, John Pierre MacEachern, Leo MacGillivray, Tom MacGillivray and Angus MacGillivray. Readings at the Mass were given by a niece and a nephew, Janet and Donald MacGillivray. The prayers of the faithful were read by niece Marguerite MacGillivray, Sister Catherine MacGillivray, CSM, also a niece, and Sister Sandra Dalton, CSM, provided the music for the liturgy. Concelebrating with Rev. Angus MacGillivray, Parish Priest of St. George’s, was Rev. John MacGillivray. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.
