Funeral services for the late Mary MacGillivray, 79, of Georgeville, Antigonish County, were held February 5 in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, with Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mrs. MacGillivray died February 3 in Gables Nursing Home, Amherst. Pallbearers were Ray Oma, Gerard MacDougall, Hugh MacInnis, Leo MacInnis, Rod Heffernan and Mitchell Chisholm. Born in Georgeville, she was a daughter of the late Roderick and Christina (MacNeil) MacDougall. She spent most of her working years in the Boston area, retiring in 1972, when she returned to Georgeville. She was a member of St. George’s Church. She is survived by her husband James; a sister, Sadie (Mrs. Alexander) MacInnis, Billingham, Mass.; eight nieces; and four nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret, and a brother, Angus R.
