At Hollowell Grant, May 10, by accident, Colin R. Chisholm, aged 77, son of the late Roderick and Bessie Chisholm. Deceased was a man of splendid character, strong mentally and physically. He won the esteem of both young and old, and, devoted to his church, seldom was he ever absent from Mass. His untimely death cast a gloom over the community. In 1886 he married Maria, daughter of Donald and Anne MacNeil, Morar, who survives him. Of a family of ten children eight survive him: Dan in North Dakota; Rod in Vancouver; Jack in Halifax; Mrs. Charlie Crossman, Ipswich, Mass.; Mrs. William Robins, Ipswich, Mass.; Mrs. Ken Mosher, Brookline, Mass.; Mrs. John C. MacKinnon and MIss Emma at home. There is also one brother John in Saskatchewan and one sister Margaret in Somerville. The funeral which was largely attended took place from his home on Monday. After high Mass of requiem by his pastor, Rev. Donald Beaton , his remains were laid to rest in St. Columba cemetery. The pall bearers were Jerome McNeil, Simon MacNeil, Joseph MacDonald, Donald Ring, Archibald MacLean, Colin MacDonald. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family, who will long cherish the memory of a loving husband, father and brother.
