Capt. Richard Murphy died yesterday at the City Hospital, Boston. He was born in the Straits of Canso, N.S. and came to this city as a young man and has been actually engaged in the fisheries from this port as man and master for 60 years, his last commands being the schooners Rebecca Bartlett and Addie M. Story. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Doyle of Dorchester and Mrs. Jerry Sullivan of Ipswich, and four sisters. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 8:15 at the residence of Mrs. Roderick Welch, 6 Arthur st., followed by a requiem mass at St. Ann’s Church at 9.
