Funeral services were held in St. Columba Church, Lakevale for William Bernard Delaney, 61, who died in St. Martha’s Hospital on December 9. Mr. Delaney was a well known violinist and for many years was a popular performer at parties and dances. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers were Peter Delaney, Carman Hawes, Lester Hawes, Ronald Kennedy, Carl Boyd and John Gavin. Mr. Delaney was a retired fisherman. He was a son of Martin and Mary (MacInnis) Delaney of Lakevale. He is survived by three sisters, Anne (Mrs. Earl Allen), Hull, Mass.; Martina Hawes, Cape George; Zita Hawes, Lakevale; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Martin and sister Lillian.
