Funeral services for the late Catherine Loretta Falkenham, 72, of Ballantyne’s Cove, Antigonish County, were held on July 7 in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantyne’s Cove, with Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Falkenham died on July 4 in St. Martha’s Hospital. Active pallbearers were grandsons Jackie, Cyril and Gerard MacGillivray, and nephews Hughie MacInnis, Joe MacInnis and Danny Boyd. HOnary pallbearers were Albert MacEachern, Tommy MacEachern, Billy MacPhie, Larry Roberts, Buddy MacEachern, Allan Adams, and Ray MacDonald. Lectors for the funeral service were son Bernie and son-in-law Gerard Brown. Born at Cape George Point, Antigonish County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Gillis) MacInnis. She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish. She is survived by her husband, Kimball; four daughters, Catherine (Mrs. John A.) MacGillivray, Lakevale; Mary June (Mrs. Carroll) Brown; Saray (Mrs. Gerard) Brown, both of Livingston’s Cove; and Kathleen (Mrs. Stan) Rideout, Antigonish; four sons, Albert and Daniel, both of Cape George; Ernest, Truro; and Berie, Antigonish; two brothers, Mark and John Hugh, both of Cape George Point; 23 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by infant twin sons, four sisters, Hilda (Mrs. Jack) Boyd, Margaret (Mrs. Shaw) Boyd, and Esta (Mrs. Angus) MacGillivray; and four brothers, Alex, William, Hugh and Raymond.
