Funeral services for the late Linda Poole, 86, Lakevale, Antigonish County, were held on December 19 in St. Columba’s Church, Lakevale, with Rev. John Hugh MacDonald officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Poole died on December 16 in the Halifax infirmary. Pallbearers were John MacInnis, Charles Mason, Jimmie MacPhie, Allen Kennedy, John Gavin and Donald Boyd. Lectors for the Funeral Mass were Barbara Poole and Stuart Beaton. Music was provided by James MacPherson and Stan Chapmen. Born in Cape George, Antigonish County, she was a daughter of the late John and Anastasia (MacDonald) MacInnis. She was a retired employee of Mount St. Bernard College, Antigonish, and a member of the St. Columba’s Catholic Women’s League, Lakevale. She is survived by her husband, Hudson; a son, Joseph, Hamilton, Ontario; a daughter, Mary (Mrs. Stuart) Beaton, Cape George; two foster sons, Richard Barker, Patrick Dotton, both of Lakevale; four sisters, Louise (Mrs. Harold) MacPhie, Antigonish; Florence (Mrs. Henry) Mason, The Ponds, Pictou County; Christie (Mrs. Henry) Chabott, Lynn, Mass.; Hannah, Cape George; a brother, Albert, Antigonish. She was predeceased by three sisters, Catherine, Margaret, Janet; three brothers, Donald, Augustus, Hugh J.
