Ballantyne, G. Howard

G. Howard Ballantyne, 63,  Woodburn, died May 6, 1998 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.  Born in New Glasgow, he was the son  of Alice Miller (MacDonald) Ballantyne, Woodburn, and the late Roy Olding Ballantyne.  He retired from Irving Oil Limited after 30 years  of service.  He founded Ballantyne’s Fuels, New Glasgow, of which he was owner/operator.  He was a member of the Bluenose Curling Club, Abercrombie Gold Club and New Glasgow Rotary Club.  He was a member and past president of the Little Harbour fire departments.  He was an adherent of Little Harbour Presbyterian Church.  Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Bryan; daughters, Claire (George) Tulle, Calgary; Karen (Murdo) MacNeil, New Glasgow; Heather (Dom) Chieffo, Calgary; son Bryan (Kim), New Market, Ont.; eight grandchildren.  Funeral was May 8 in Little Harbour presbyterian Church, with burial in Woodburn Cemetery.
