George Ballentine, 73, resident of Winston for many years, died on Monday of this week in Townsend. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Connors Mortuary, Father Geo. Lambertus of East Helena officiating. Many friends from Winston and the Beaver Creek vicinity were in attendance. Burial was made in the Winston cemetery. Mr. Ballentine was a native son of Nova Scotia, coming to Montana about forty years ago and was interested in mining, being associated in business with the late Senator Chas. S. Muffly at his mine for several years, operating a boarding house and later went into a store in Winston. Mrs. Ballentine died in Winston about ten years ago. One sister only survives in Nova Scotia.
