Up above the lobster factory was the home of Mary (MacEachern) MacInnis who was Ranald Lewis MacEachern’s sister. Her husband and all her children ( 7 of them) died of tuberclosis. No one was sure exactly how TB worked so Eustace MacEachern used to send up milk, cream, butter and eggs for her, but told his family they were never to take anything from the house. She lived here with the bachelor Hughie Lewis MacEachern. Mary was a gentle and small woman who lived into her 90’s. After she died, Eustace burned both the house and the barn down. There is now a boat shop on the property.
