It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marguerite Birett on Friday, January 16th, 2026. Marguerite was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Marguerite was a devoted wife to Joseph for 57 years. She was a loving mother to Steve (Sudha), Greg (Stacey) and Phil. Cherished sister of Allan Roberts. She loved her grandchildren, Isabel, Matthew, Cameron, Josh and Roxy immensely. Marguerite is predeceased by her parents, Leo and Violet, and her seven siblings.
She dedicated her working life to teaching elementary-aged school children. In her retirement, she loved nothing more than volunteering with Good Shepherd, St. Vincent de Paul.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 6-8 p.m., Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 27, at 10 a.m.
