Bond, Austin Isaac, 94, Antigonish, formerly of Cape George. It is with great sadness that we, the family of Austin Bond, announce his passing on March 13, 2011, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Veterans’ Unit in Antigonish.

Born in Canso, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ellen (King) Bond.

Austin was a woodsman and fisherman most of his life. He spent time in the Merchant Marines at an early age.

Mr. Bond is survived by daughters: Anne MacEachern, Jean Roach (Dusty), Margie MacInnis all of Dartmouth; Molly (Bradley) MacLeod, Country Harbour; sons: Edgar, Heatherton; Brian (Monique), Pomquet; Gavin and Kevin, Antigonish, Dale, Brierly Brook; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, daughter, Linda, and son-in-law Edgar Roach.

Visitation will be Wednesday in the C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday in St. Columba Church, Lakevale at 10:30am. Burial in the parish cemetery.
