Bond, Edgar Gerard, age 73, formerly of Heatherton, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 24, 2022, in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish. Born in Cape George, he was a son of the late Austin Isaac and Mary Rebecca (Gavin) Bond. Edgar had been a lobster fisherman, woodsman, and a construction labourer. He enjoyed warm beer, having a smoke, playing cards (especially 45s), and hunting and fishing. He is survived by his children, Rebecca Bond, Antigonish; Allen Bond (Karen White) Bayfield; and Scarlett Bond (Cory Vigneau), Addington Forks; grandchildren, Dustin Bond, Mylen Bond, Ryan Bond, Daniel Bond, Tyler MacEachern, Annabelle Vigneau, and Rosalie Vigneau; and siblings, Anne MacEachern, Jean Roach, Marge MacInnis, Dale Bond, Kevin Bond, Gavin Bond, and Molly Bond. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Linda, and his brother, Brian. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10:00am in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, with Reverend Andrew Boyd presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
