Boyd – There passed away at her home on Hawthorne Street, Thursday, Nov. 11, 1937, very suddenly, from a heart attack, Margaret, beloved wife of John R. Boyd. Death though sudden only meant for the deceased the beginning of that eternal happiness which had been the inspiration of her truly Christian life. She was of a kind, charitable, modest and cheerful disposition. Her whole life was that of a perfect Christian, and the kindest and best of parents. A kind and charitable neighbor, a warm hearted and generous friend, her companionship was at all times delightful and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Deceased, who was 65 years of age, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald MacEachern, Cape George. She was twice married, her first husband being the late Ronald MacDonald, lighthouse keeper at Cape George. She is survived by her grief stricken husband, her daughters, Mary MacDonald, Camden, Maine, Sally Boyd, R.N., Jamaica Plain, Mass, who both arrived home for the funeral, and her son, John R. at home; also by one brother, Archie MacEachern, Dunmore, and one sister, Mrs. John Heffernan, Georgeville. The funeral, the large attendance at which testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held, took place Sunday afternoon to St. Ninian’s Cathedral where services were held by her parish priest, Rev. John R. MacDonald. Her remains were tenderly laid to rest in Lakevale cemetery, Rev. Donald Beaton officiating. The pall bearers were R. A. MacGillivray, Ronald Boyd, Angus MacMillan, Dr. D.L. MacDonald, Newell Chisholm and Hugh MacDonald.
