He loved travelling with his parents, including their regular trips out to the Cape, weekend trips to Halifax, and especially their winter trips to Florida where Jay enjoyed getting lots of sunshine and relaxing with a favourite beverage. Some highlights of Jay’s life would include meeting hockey legend Al McInnis, holding the Stanley Cup, seeing his favourite band, The Trews, perform live, and volunteering at the annual Luke Brown Memorial Golf Tournament. Jay was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Blues hockey team. Having a calm and quiet nature, Jay was someone people always wanted to be around. He was a great listener and could always be counted on for his razor-sharp memory. He will be missed profoundly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 30th at St. George’s Catholic Church in Georgeville. Memorial Donations may be made in Jay’s name to the St. George’s Cemetery Fund, 8263 Highway 337, Livingstone Cove, NS B2G 2L1.
