Funeral services were held this past Sunday from St. George’s Church, Georgeville for the late Ambrose Chisholm, Sr., 87, of Georgeville. Rev. William B. DeCourcey officiated. Mr. Chisholm died March 6 at the R.K. MacDonald Guest House. Pallbearers were six of his grandsons, Leonard, Andy, Bradley and Colin Chisholm, and Michael and Robert McLean. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Born in Georgeville, he was a son of the late John Archie and Catherine (MacIsaac) Chisholm. He was a retired farmer and fisherman. He is survived by four daughters: Coleen (Mrs. Peter Gregory) and Mary (Mrs. Donald MacLean), both of Georgeville; Donna (Mrs. John P. McLean), Antigonish; and Elizabeth (Mrs. Don Andeson), Victoria, B.C.; three sons: Ambrose B. and MItchell, both of Georgeville; and ARchie, Bailey’s Brook; 33 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mabel MacInnis, a son Hugh, five brothers and three sisters.
