13 Sep 1977 – Mable Christina Chisholm (MacInnis)
Mrs. Ambrose Chisholm, 82, of Georgeville, died on September 13 at St. Martha’s Hospital. A native of Cape George, she was the former Mable Christina MacInnis, daughter of the late Hugh Colin and Catherine (Beaton) MacInnis. She was a retired school teacher and had taught at Christmas Island, Morar and her hometown of Georgeville. Surviving are her husband; four daughter, Coleen (Mrs. Peter Gregory), Port Alberni, British Columbia; Mary (Mrs. D.J. MacLean), Winnipeg; Donna (Mrs. Butch MacLean), Antigonish; and Elizabeth (Mrs. D. J. Ankerson), Victoria, B.C.; three sons, Ambrose Beaton and Mitchell, both of Georgeville; and Archie, Bailey’s Brook; and 34 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Hugh; one sister, Sarah; and five brothers, John, Dan Hughie, Mitchell, Roderick and Collie. A Requiem Mass was celebrated in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, with Rev Hugh A. MacDonald officiating. Pallbearers were Ford, Bradley and Leonard Chisholm, Ambrose Chisholm Jr., and Ian and Michael MacLean. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
