Mrs. Elizabeth Currie – Largely attended funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Davis Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Elizabeth McNair Currie. Mrs. Currie, 87, a well known Springfield resident for 60 years, died Monday morning, July 21, at the Springfield hospital. The Rev. Richard Beyer, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated at the services. She was born on February 11, 1871, in Nova Scotia, the daughter of David and Isabel (Wilkie) McNair. She was married to James W. Currie in Montreal in December of 1892. Mrs. Currie belonged to the Congregational church and Ramona Chapter , Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving her are four sons, William C. and robert D of Springfield, Arch L. of Walpole and David H. of Buffalo, NY; two daughters, Mrs. Isabel Lee of Springfield and Mrs. John Bernardini of Rochester, NY; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Currie’s grandsons served as bearers. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
