– Rev. A.H. Denoon Dies After Lengthy Illness – Was an Outstanding Minister of the United Church.
HALIFAX, N.S. April 6. – Rev. A.H. Denoon, D.D. one of the outstanding ministers of the United Church, died here early today after an illness of two years. Born at Stellarton, Pictou county, he was educated at Pictou Academy and Dalhousie University. He served the Presbyterian Church not only in his native province, but as a chaplain overseas during the war, and also preached at Lethbridge, Alberta and in Toronto. Following the union of the churches in 1925, Mr. Denoon was called to New Glasgow to become the first minister of Trinity United church. He was 57 years old and is survived by Mrs. Denoon, two sons, Dr. John of Halifax and Allister in Toronto, and one daughter, Nan (Mrs. Gilbert Patterson) of Lethbridge, Alberta.
