MRS ALBERT FALKENHAM – There passed away on March 22, Catherine Ann, wife of Albert, Falkenham, Ballantyne’s Cove in her 72nd year. Although the deceased had been in ill health the past four years, her death came unexpected. She was the daughter of Duncan J. and Christy McDonald of Cape George Point. In 1909 she married Mr. Falkenham, a veteran of World War 1 and in 1919 moved to Cape George when Mr. Falkenham was appointed Light-keeper there. A devout member of the Catholic Church. She frequently received the sacraments during her illness. The funeral was held from Holy Rosary Church Ballantynes Cove. Rev. A. Bryden, P.P. celebrated requiem Mass and officiated at the graveside assisted by Rev. L. McLean. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, one son, Kimball; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Alex MacEachern,Cape George; (one daughter Christene Angnes died in infancy) two sisters, Mrs Valentine Chisholm, Antigonish; Mrs. Mary McDonald, Trenton; and six grandchildren. Pall bearers were: Leo Roberts, Harold McPhee, Alex Adams, James McEachern, William McInnis, Allan McDonald.
