FALKENHAM, Kimball – 89, R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, formerly of Ballantynes Cove, Antigonish Co., died July 2, 2001, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Norwich, Conn., he was the only son of the late Albert and Catherine (MacDonald) Falkenham. He was a lifelong fisherman and an avid storyteller. He loved nothing better than spending time at the wharf.
Surviving are sons, Albie (Carol Ann), Daniel (Florence), Bernie (Karen), Cape George; Ernie (Theresa), Truro; daughters, Cathy (Johnnie) MacGillivray, Lakevale; Mary June (Carroll) Brown, Livingstone’s Cove; Sara (Gerard) Brown and Kathleen Rideout, Antigonish; 25 grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Sadie MacDonald; second wife, the former Catherine MacInnis; twin sons and daughters in infancy; sisters, Ruth MacEachern and Christina Agnes (in infancy); son-in-law, Stan Rideout. Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantyne’s Cove, Rev. Daniel MacDonald and Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seniors Care Van 2001.
