Andrew Joseph Gillis was a native of Morar, Antigonish County, the son of Allan (Builder) and Elizabeth (nee Hanrahan) Gillis; he married twice; first at Arisaig June 3 1919 to Mary Jeanette Connors the daughter of John and Mary Connors of Pleasant Valley; she died August 4 1919 of gastric ulceration. His occupation was as an accountant in Halifax. His second marriage was to Catherine Gillis age 27 formerly of Glen Alpine the daughter of Daniel Gillis and Margaret MacIsaac. The marriage took place at Lochaber October 25th 1921. His occupation was book keeper and his residence listed as Antigonish. Andrew Joseph Gillis is the man standing in the back row on the left.
