Fatal accident – Dougald C. Gillis, a native of Georgeville was killed in New York Saturday morning. Mr. Gillis had been employed as a lineman by the Edison Electric Company for two years in New York, after spending five years in Boston. No particulars have been received by his other Mrs. John H. Gillis, Georgeville, excepting that he was electrocuted after coming in contact with a live wire. Besides his mother, he is survived by the following sisters: Mrs. Dan D. McDonald, New Glasgow; Mrs. Stephen Omera, Boston; Mrs. Allan MacDonald, Pleasant Valley; Mrs. John Dineen, Misses Annie, Margaret and Helena Gillis, Boston, and Miss Margaret Gillis at home. He is also survived by four brothers, Neil Gillis, Livingstone’s Cove; Dan J. Gillis, Georgeville, John Gillis of Roxbury, Mass.; and Angus Gillis of Vancouver. Deceased left home seven years ago and was highly esteemed at Georgeville. News of his tragic death came as a district shock to his wife’s circle of friends.
