At Morar, May 18, John Andrew Gillis aged 82 years. His life was that of a model Christian. Fortified by the last rites of Holy Mother Church he peacefully passed away leaving to mourn their loss his sorrowing widow, three sons and three daughters: Dr. Andrew C. Gillis, Baltimore;’ John A. Gillis, Somerville; Alexander J. Gillis on the old homestead; Christena, Mrs. Adrian Doucette, Pittsburg; Catherine, Mrs. Thomas Lewis, Detroit; Mary C. Gills, R.N., Connecticut; also three brothers: Andrew Gillis, Newport; Allan Gillis, Antigonish; Francis Gillis, Sydney Mines. After requiem Mass by Rev. James Chisholm, P.P., his remains were laid to rest in Georgeville cemetery.
