There died at Morar, Dec. 34, 1943, Mrs. John A. Gillis, (nee Mary MacInnis), aged 91 years. After receiving the rites of the church from Fr. Campbell she peacefully passed away, leaving to mourn their loss three sons and three daughters: Mrs. Andrew C. Gillis, Baltimore; John A. Gillis, Somerville; Alexander J. Gillis, Morar; Mrs. Adrian A. Doucette, pittsburgh, Penn; Mrs. Thomas Lewis, Detroit. On December 27 her remains were interred at Georgeville cemetery. Mass was said by Fr. Campbell, who also officiated at the cemetery. Pallbearers were John D. Brown, Joseph Brown, John J. MacDonald, Neil Gillis, Mark MacEachern, Dan C. MacNeil.
