Catherine Ann Goesswein, 68 of Malignant Cove, died in St. Martha’s Hospital on August 17. She was the widow of Gustave Goesswein of New York where they had lived for 30 years. A native of Malignant Cove, she returned home when her husband died four years ago. The funeral Mass was celebrated in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, and burial was in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers were Hugh Chisholm, Ambrose Chisholm, Ronald MacGillivray, John D. MacDonald and nephews Jackie and Bernard Chisholm. Mrs. Goesswein is survived by three sons, Robert, Earl and Gustave, all of New York; and two brothers, John Angus, Malignant Cove and Alexander, Detroit. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Joseph A. and Mary Ann (MacDonald) Chisholm, and brothers Gorman and Andrew.
