Halloran, Margaret, 83, St. Andrews, Ant. Co. died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sept. 21, 2011 surrounded by her family. Born in Livingstone’s Cove, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Flora (MacKinnon) Gillis. Margaret worked in CSR at St. Martha’s Hospital for many years. Upon retirement she ran Peggy’s B&B at the homestead in St. Andrews. She had strong faith and was an active member of St. Andrew’s CWL. Margaret was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend. She is survived by her children Anne (Angus) Mills, St. Andrews; Joe (Laurel Szasx), Ladysmith, B.C., Loretta (Ted) Bremer, Calgary, AB; Mary Teasdale, Nanaimo, B.C., Veronica (James) MacEachern, Lakevale; daughter-in-law, Genesta Halloran – Peter’s St. Andrews; Sister, Lena MacDougall, Antigonish; grandchildren Jennifer (Alan) Dwyer, Matthew (Mary Beth), Patrick, Landon, Afton, Craig, Kirsten, Kelsey, Trina, Krista (Quinn) Broda, Trevor, Nicole, Breanna, Lauren, Lindsey, Jamie, and Andrew; great-grandson, Sollie; step-daughters: Kay Schultz, Berlin and Margaret Boyle, Afton; step-son Charles Halloran, Ontario. She is predeceased by her husband Larence; son, John; sisters: Mary and Florence; brothers; Joe and John; son-in-law; Sterling Teasdale; step-son, Damien. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Andrew’s Church, St. Andrews, on Saturday at 10:30 am, Rev Charles Cameron presiding. Burial to follow in South River Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care Society, St. Martha’s Hospital.
