14 Jun 1978 – Carmen Joseph Hawes
Funeral services were held last week in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, for Carmen Joseph Hawes, 21, of Antigonish Harbour, who died on June 14. Mr. Hawes was the victim of an automobile accident which occurred on the Bicentennial Drive near Halifax. Burial as in the parish cemetery. The active pallbearers were Joey Boudreau, Lester Hawes, Martin Hawes, David Livingston, Ron Boyd and Kevin Shea. The honorary pallbearers were Kevin Cleveland, Rick Connolly, Joe MacLean, Graham Rufuse, Von Doyle and Gerard Livingston. Mr. Hawes was a graduate of Antigonish Regional HIgh School and had worked in the parts department at Halifax Chrysler Dodge Ltd. for the past four years. He is survived by his mother, Cecelia (Delaney) Hawes; and two brothers, Douglas, Halifax; and Paul at home. He was predeceased by his father Ralph Hawes.
