Kenneth D. Hawes, 64, of Cape George, died December 31 in St. Martha’s Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Martina Delaney of Lakevale, one daughter Cecilia, at home, and two sons, Lester Kenneth and Martin Almond, at home. He is also survived by one brother, Ralph, Antigonish Harbour; and three sisters; Hilda (Mrs. L.R. Jackson), Florida; Gladys (Mrs. J.J. Gillis), Norwood, Mass; and Evelyn (Mrs. Brown), Windsor, Ontario. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Columba Church in Lakevale. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.
