Funeral services for the late Mary Martina Hawes, 66, of Greenwold Manor, Antigonish, and formerly of Lakevale, were held last Tuesday in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, with Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Hawes died January 21 at home. Pallbearers were Dougie Hawes, Paul Hawes, Pete Delaney, A.D. MacKenzie, David Livingston and Gerard Livingston. Born in Lakevale, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Mary (MacInnis) Delaney. She was a member of St. Columba Parish and was employed at Mount St. Bernard College in the maintenance department for 16 years. She is survived by one daughter Cecelia (Mrs. Donald) Landry, Dartmouth; two sons, Lester, Halifax; Martin, Dartmouth; two sisters, Ann (Mrs. Earl) Allan, Boston, Mass., Mrs. Zita Hawes, Antigonish Harbour; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth, one son, Gerard; one sister, Lillian MacLean; and two brothers, William and Martin James.
