Heffernan, Donald Thomas, 58, Georgeville, Antigonish County passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday. Born in Antigonish, he was the son of the late John Dan and Mary Margaret ‘Girlie’ (Gillis) Heffernan. Donald was retired from Stora Enso, Port Hawkesbury. He was generous and kind to his family and friends and especially enjoyed visiting neighbors in the community. Surviving are sisters and brothers: Kay (Silivo) Artuso, Johnny (Ruth), Guelph, Ont; Frank (Minnie), Antigonish; Patsy (John) Wallace, Malignant Cove; Marion (Joe) Neary, Cloverville; Bernie (Brenda), Malignant Cove; sisters in law: Elaine Heffernan, Antigonish; Geraldine Heffernan, Peterborough, Ont. and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers: Leo, Roddie and Carmen; nephew, Paul Artuso. Visitation in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish Wednesday, August 10th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in St. George’s Church, Georgeville., Reverend Danuiel MacDonald presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
