Funeral services for the late Evelyn M. Jones were held recently in St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Waltham, Mass., with Rev. Father MacInnis officiating. Burial was in Mount Feke Cemetery, Waltham. Born in Summerville, Mass., she was the only child of the late Charles and Margaret (MacInnis) O’Harra. She spent her early years with her grandmother, Mrs. John MacInnis and uncles Dan Hugh and Colin MacInnis of South Side Cape George. She attended Summerville High School and later became an engraver, working for the U.S. Federal government until her retirement. She excelled in speed skating and was the first person to win the Sonja Henny trophy in the Boston Marathon. She was also an avid bowler and an ardent card player. She is survived by her husband Lawrence G. of Waltham; Dr. Mary and Don Hurst, chosen grandsons Jason and Sandy Hurst; several nieces and nephews.
