Linkletter, Robert Wilton, 83, of Livingstone’s Cove Antigonish Co. NS, passed away suddenly on February 8th, 2013 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Merland and later of Malignant Cove, Antigonish Co., Robbie was a son of the late Patrick and Emily (Wallace) Linkletter.
Robbie worked as a pulp cutter and tree farmer operator most of his life. He also worked as a fisherman’s helper. Robbie loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was always looking for a good game of cards with family and friends. Robbie was known for his potato crops and his sweet tooth.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Margaret (MacMillan); two sons: Bob (Debbie), Antigonish and Sandy, (fiancée Viola Baker), Southside Harbour/Alberta; three daughters: Kathy, Antigonish, Debbie (Jack Glenn) and Leanne (Dennis) DeGruchy both of Malignant Cove; grand children: Crystal (Donnie) Beaton, Mount Uniacke, Nathan Linkletter, Antigonish, and Logan DeGruchy, Malignant Cove; great grandchildren: John, Catherine and Emily Beaton; brother, Billy, Maryvale; sisters: Nellie MacLellan, Sadie (Alex) MacNeil, Marie Kwik, Antigonish, Shirley Chisholm, Williams Point, Marguerite Chisholm, and Mary (Wayne) Burton, British Columbia.
Predeceased by son in law, Jim Snow; brother Leslie, sister-in-law Gloria, nephew Sonny, brothers-in-law John MacLellan, Jack Chisholm, and James Chisholm; nephew, RobertMacLellan.
No visitation or flowers by request. A memorial service for family and relatives will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, Reverend Peter Smith presiding assisted by Reverend Evo DiPierro. Public reception to follow at 11:00 am in St. James United Church Hall.
