The death of Allan MacDonald occurred in St. Martha’s Hospital following an illness of several months. He was born at Cape George Point on September 8, 1904, son of the late Alexander MacDonald and Elizabeth (MacLean) MacDonald. He spent most of his life at Cape George, a life which he divided between fishing and farming. He also spent some time in Western Canada. Surviving are his sister, Charlotte, (Mrs. Dan MacGillivray), Pleasant Valley; Dan Alex and Duncan, of Cape George; a sister Marian (Mrs. John Sutherland) predeceased him a number of years ago. The largely attended funeral was held with Requiem Mass celebrated in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantyne’s Cove. Pallbearers were: Frank MacNeil, Mark MacInnis, Hughie D. MacDonald, Billy MacInnis, Alexander MacEachern, and Hughie Joseph MacInnis.
