Funeral services were held last Monday for the late Angus Donald Macdonald, 80, of Heatherton, Antigonish County, in Immaculate Conception Church, with burial in the parish cemetery. Mr. MacDonald died September 3 in St. Martha’s Hospital. Active pallbeares were Gordon Cameron, Aubrey Cameron, Arnold Rovers, Myles Glenn, Raymond MacDonald, J.B. Grant, Michael O’Leary, and R.J. (Bo) Chisholm. Honourary pallbearers were Colin MacKinnon, William D., MacDonald, Alex J. Chisholm, Arthur LeBrun, Cyril MacEachern, Anthony Murphy, Raymond Camerson and Lauchie MacDonald. Born in Ballantyne’s Cove, he was a son of the late Captain Angus and Margaret (MacNeil) MacDonald. He was active in community affairs, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Arras brach c#59, Royal Canadian Legion. He was also active in the Antigonish Co-operative. He is survived by his wife, the former Tena Chisholm; a daughter, Coline, New Germany; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, John, Colin, James and Augustine; and four sisters, Catherine, Josephine, Mary C., and Sister Mary Austin, csm.
