Archibald F. MacDonald. Funeral services for the late Archibald Francis (Archie Fid) MacDonald, 83 of Cole Harbour, formerly of Antigonish, took place May 2 in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantynes Cove, with Rev. John H. Macdonald officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. MacDonald died April 28 in Halifax County Rehabilitation Center. Lector at the Mass was Joyce MacEachern. The Lakevale choir provided the music for the liturgy. Pallbearers were Joe, Paul, Reggie, Gerard and James MacEachern, and Gerard Gillis. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Alexander and Isabella (MacEAchern) MacDonald. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Royal Canadian Engineers Division 1939 – 43, and member of Arras Branch 59, Royal Canadian Legion. He was predeceased by two brothers William Lauchlin and Neil John.
