21 Oct 1934 Dougald MacDonald
Dougald MacDonald, aged 35, Cape George Point, died at St. Martha’s Hospital last Sunday morning of acute blood-poisoning. He was a son of the late Mr and Mrs Dan MacDonald , and made his home with his brother Alfred. About two weeks earlier he had cut one of the fingers of his right hand while plowing, and it is thought the infection had its rise in that wound, for, first his right arm and later on, his left developed the symptoms of blood poisoning. He came into the hospital Tuesday morning, but by that time little hope was entertained that he would recover. The funeral took place Monday morning at Ballantyne’s Cove, after requiem Mass by Rev. D. Beaton. Deceased is survived by two sisters, Stella and Annie May, both married in Massachusetts and five brothers: Alfred and Archie at the Cape; Frank in British Columbia; Allan in Alberta; John in Halifax. Another brother Angus has not been heard of for a number of years and is believed to be dead.
