MacDonald, James J.

21 Aug 1924

James J. MacDonald, a workman employed by the Canadian Bridge Company, was killed last Thursday afternoon, when he fell from the scaffolding to the bed of the creek at Avoca Bridge, Moore Park, Toronto, where a new structure is being erected. According to the story told by witnesses the scaffolding on which MacDonald and a companion were working, moved and MacDonald was precipitated fifty feet to the ground, while the other man succeeded in saving himself. The deceased was a son of Duncan John MacDonald, Point of Cape, Antigonish County, and had been away about five years. He is survived by his wife, a former Halifax girl, and two young children. The remains arrived at Antigonish last Tuesday , and interment was made Wednesday morning at Ballantynes Cove.
